Live Chat with Mr Prof

Yeap, formal visit by Prof. and I have passed it with " 5: Sangat Memuaskan". HAHAHA. How so? Coz I watched it with my eyes - my SV indeed marked that "5" right before Prof on that visiting form. *So proud of myself* no threatening or flattering...

Look, I had been just informed few hours earlier that the visit was on exactly that day, and they were rushing from Penang, right after the Ling's. Hell no! I thought Prof would have given a week or a day notification. What was my reaction was not a reaction. I could not just stop them from coming?!
W.a.m, that's nothing, as my friends said: only a "chit-chatting" what~~ LOL

Prod did not know my location and he called me for confirmation. And, first reaction arrived at my place with his three post-grad students: "Wah, it looks like hotel."
Second, I was not surprised until he told me that he was from SP too. hehe
Third, he wanted to meet my sv and I simultaneously. So impromptu huh~
Fourth, he asked some random questions:

What does the factory produce? Pudding
What's main ingredient of the pudding? Carrageenan it is
What problems are you facing in pudding? Syneresis
How do you cope this? Constant research on the formulation of carrageenan and LBG. Different proportion is used.
Any lab test conducted? Erm, we do not have any in house lab, but we do some simple one like checking pH and Brix.
So what do you have learned from here? Mostly food safety management system, ISO docs and etc. Indeed, I have learned a lot. Like a whole lot... My sv and I have some learning exchange.
How long is your pudding shelf life? 18 months.
How do you test it? Uh uh, we do not test it, we outsource for people to test it.
Ok, then you know how? Uh uh, testing on the microb?
No... ok I let you know. There's a method called Accelerated Shelf Life Testing. Go find it out. Ermm, okay I will.
Fifth, ahha, end of the not-so-exciting chatting session which was conducted in rojak language. What do you know, I actually love to speak 1Malaysia language. He walked out the room, reminded my sv to fill in the sv's report and in fact he said "thank you and bye". *Ahem, forgot something? Excuse me, no any survey form for me? Coz my friends got it*

P/S: My sv was nervous than me myself during the live chat as he asked her what qualification she has had for her to work as food safety supervisor. Also, my sv was afraid to chat in English.
I comforted her: Language and qualification, they doesn't matter as far as you do the job well and you own the precious years of experience.

Ending soon

So, another 6 days to go for my dear course-mates to happily "graduate" from their three quarters of uni's journey... Congratz... My turn very soon too. Yea, 24 days. Haha 4 times of yours. Can't wait to see all of you. My uni, My friends.

I am not going to give my "3/4 graduation speech" so fast at this moment. Coz I am going to read some of yours first. But, really no sense of "reluctant" to leave your workplace? Sure have a little...right right...

Recently really have not much of work at the org... I felt like I am taking "blind salary"...  Okay, there was no  such direct translation of "gaji buta". It's suppose to be described as a SINECURE, and I just learned the word. How nice was it.

Well, I am a sinecure now who pretend to be busy while the boss passes by...My handphone can run out of battery in a single working day just because I keep on surfing the net while "working". LOL.

YG these days

There were two "Ms T" coming for their probation today... I was glad enough to welcome them as my current "job" could finally find its descendent.

I had no time at all to entertain them as I was busy with my daily task. I thought my supervisor and other colleagues could at least settle them with little simple task.

Who knows when the clock tick-toc-ed to 12 o'clock - LUNCH TIME, we indeed had a small discord.
Seriously?
At their first day of working?
Yup, we (actually was between both Ms T and my sv) disagreed in the lunch time arrangement of who should go out first by 12pm instead of 1pm.
My sv would definitely choose the former one, that means both Ms T had to go out at 1pm since only a colleague remained in the office.  However, I couldn't think of once that both Ms T would refuse to do so.
I mean as a "new people", I thought new people will always have to "follow" the "old people" 's suggestion. HAHA.
Anyway, good to know that "new people" could fight for their rights too. At least I know I dare not, unless it is something urgent. You know~ die in hungry for lunch.

At last, my sv had no choice but to let them went for 12pm's. We went out almost at the same time, but we didn't come back on same time...
AHA! I could guess it. They had definitely fled away....because of what? We were still puzzled. They didn't even have a call to inform HR that they quit.
Okay, don't tell me the reason you be a half-day quitter was because of a mere trifle in "lunch-time arrangement".
Come on, we have already told you that it was just alternately. Colleagues must help each other...
Or maybe it was all about a "plan" i.e. flee at the lunch hour.

You, anticipating...

Now you start to anticipate a lot... your graduation, your thesis prior to that degree, your career, your pay, your living, your future etc and etc.

It seems like recently this is the hottest topic of chit-chatting in the yamcha session we had. Too fast, too worry.

Normal. Of course~ you couldn't stop our mind from anticipating any problem you might face in the near tomorrows as only a-year time left for you to reckon with so many unknowns.
Oh Yes. You will always get a vague fears, until these "unknowns" turn into an exact figure.

Me neither. Anxious about my future - my future as the Food Technologist. I hope to stay in my field. I hope to excel. I hope to get high pay (who doesn't wish to?).

Anyway, still remember this diagram?

LOL... by looking to this diagram. Things can get so easy. haha
So, this is what you can do now:

JUST GO WITH IT!
IN THE END THINGS WILL MEND!

Bad of me...

I should be rushing home after 5.30pm but instead I ended up tete-a-tete with Ms. M for an hour right in front of her house. (fyi I was sending subcons to her so dropped by her house)

tsk tsk tsk...

Nothing important business to discuss. Together we spent time bad-mouthing, commenting, gossiping, reminiscing (her old days) and prying. I have no idea why she like to update the organization's latest news from me. Concern maybe as her past job? Or maybe here comes her-sarky-psycho: "How do you live without me?"

Indeed I was clever enough to "exchange" info from her. And now I got some first hand info that at least one former operator (get fired one) and one present staff (keep on showing I-am-bored-pattern) are looking forward to job-hopping to her company.
Pathetic to know this is imminent... even my SV also thought of fill in their job application form.

Looks like Jasmine Revolution is about to on~ gradually~ Ms. Lim partially support you but dare not see some or half of the admin staff end up having a "family-reunion" at another company. This is too cruel~

Another thing is we did find a mutual point of view that is superiors barely to accept advice or opinions from inferiors which I feel bad for them. There's always rooms for improvement for only those are open-minded. Guess they don't know this simple rule for sure.

Being a "professional" intern, I supposed I should take my courage to express my opinion based on my expertise; but eventually I ended up by being a kibitzer as I could sense from the superiors' remark. And for once that's enough, never be a person who give unwelcomed advice again, unless you are instructed to do so.
